Festivals in the Island Pacifique Philippines are celebrated 365 days of the year ! Somewhere in the archipelago of 7,107 islands, a festival or several festivals are celebrated officially in honor of a patron saint. Festivals are religious ceremonies honoring the Santo Niño--the child Jesus or a patron saint of a region. Thanksgiving for a bountiful harvest or survival from destructive typhoons and forces of nature are given respect by way of dancing, feasting, parades and annual commemmoration of the event.
